GTS has once again been confirmed among the companies holding the ATMO Approved Natural Refrigerants Label
GTS has once again been confirmed among the companies holding the ATMO Approved Natural Refrigerants Label, reaffirming its role as a trusted leader in the natural refrigerants sector and its long-standing commitment to sustainable innovation.
The recognition, awarded by ATMOsphere, continues to distinguish manufacturers that meet the highest standards in the production of natural refrigerant solutions and demonstrate measurable environmental impact and industry leadership.
A continuous commitment to natural refrigerants
For GTS, being ATMO Approved is the confirmation of a consistent industrial strategy centered on natural refrigerants such as propane (R290), isobutane (R600a), n-butane (R600), and propylene (R1270), produced under the Polarpure brand with purity levels up to 99.99%.
The company’s distillation plant in Arquà Polesine — powered by a 1 MW photovoltaic system and R290 heat pumps — represents a model of sustainable production and supply chain reliability.
Measured environmental impact
The ATMO Approved framework increasingly emphasizes measurable impact in reducing greenhouse gases and PFAS-related substances.
Based on the latest available consolidated data (2024), GTS natural refrigerants placed on the market contributed to:
- 670 tonnes of avoided TFA emissions
4.2 million tonnes of avoided CO₂e emissions (GWP20) - continued growth in the adoption of natural-refrigerant-based solutions
Updated impact figures for 2025 are currently being consolidated and will be published in the upcoming sustainability infographics.
Driving the transition to PFAS-free cooling
Natural refrigerants represent a long-term solution aligned with evolving European regulation and the global phase-down of fluorinated gases.
By avoiding substances that may generate persistent compounds such as TFA, GTS contributes to the transition toward PFAS-free refrigeration technologies.
The continued ATMO Approved recognition confirms GTS’s role in supporting customers and partners in adopting future-proof, environmentally responsible cooling solutions.
Looking ahead
The 2026 confirmation reinforces GTS’s position among the companies actively shaping the future of clean cooling.
Through continuous investment in production quality, environmental performance, and supply chain transparency, GTS remains committed to advancing sustainable refrigeration worldwide.
